Procedure in the event of an Accident
Stay calm. Obtain the particulars and vehicle registration numbers of all parties involved in the accident, as well as the location, time & road conditions. Take a photo of all damage & make a sketch of the accident site.
In case of injuries, call an ambulance. Do not move the vehicle, but wait for the arrival of the police.
PARTICULARS:

- NRIC/Passport number
- Address and Telephone Numbers of drivers, passengers, injured pedestrians and witnesses.
Hirers need to lodge an IDAC Insurance Accident report. Forms are available from our main office. Our staffs are available to assist you in completing this report.
Note that accident reports must be lodged with the police within 24 hours, if the accident results in injury; involves government property or vehicles, foreign vehicles or a pedestrian or cyclist whether they are hurt or not. The Original copy of the accident report must be forwarded to our main office for insurance purposes as soon as possible.

General Information
Driver's License
All International and foreign drivers' licences must be converted to Singapore ones if the driver intends to reside in Singapore for more than 12 months. A theory test must be taken before the licence can be issued. The driver is permitted to drive in S'pore as soon as he has applied for a theory test date, after receiving his Employment pass. Registration for the test and application for the Singapore licence can be done at the Traffic Police Headquarters, 10 Ubi Ave 3, Singapore 408865. (Tel: 6547 0000).
A maximum of 12 demerit points per year is allowed.
Electronic Road Pricing Scheme (ERP)
All vehicles entering affected areas must use a CashCard. CashCards with the 'Sun symbol' (for heat resistance) may be purchased from local banks, post offices and designated petrol kiosks. The minimum value is $20.
Central Business District Gantries
Orchard Corridor with 4 ERP gantries at Orchard Rd, Orchard Link, Orchard Turn & Cairnhill Rd and Nicoll Highway.
Operational hours: Weekdays 7.30 am to 7 pm. Eve of major Public holidays 7.30 am to 1 pm.
Other areas: ECP towards Jurong between Fort Road & Rochor Road & Entry to ECP from Ophir Road towards Jurong.
PIE
Towards Jurong between Kallang Bahru & Woodsville Flyover and CTE towards the city between Braddell and Whampoa Flyovers & after
Balestier Road entry.
Operational hours: Weekdays 7.30 to 9.30 am.
Fine of $30 per entry for failure to insert CashCard or the use of a CashCard with insufficient cash balance.

Use of CashCard in the ERP unit
• Insert the CashCard into the in-vehicle unit (IU) with the black strip facing up and on the left. Once inserted correctly, the IU will give a short beep. A small green light will come on and stay on. The CashCard balance will show in the display window for 10 seconds and then disappear.
• When the vehicle is driven under ERP gantries, a short beep will sound. The CashCard balance after deduction will appear.
• If there is a continuous beep, no beep at all, 'Err' (Error) appears in the display window or it remains blank, ensure the
CashCard has been inserted correctly. If the problem persists, the IU is faulty and needs to be looked into. Contact San's Tours at

Speed Limit
City & all other areas: 50 km/h
Expressways: 80 km/h unless otherwise indicated
Look out for Speed and Red light cameras on certain roads and traffic junctions.
Speed detection cameras are located at:
• Holland Road near the Botanic Gardens
• Yishun Ave 2 near Khatib MRT station
• Nicoll Drive near Changi Coast Road
• Bukit Batok Road near Jurong East 70 km/h
• Boon Lay Way after Lakeside MRT station 70 km/h
• PIE near BKE turn-off
• CTE near Braddell turn-off
• ECP after the Benjamin Sheares bridge towards Fort Road
• AYE after the Buona Vista exit & before the Clementi exit
• BKE before the KJE exit in the direction towards Woodlands
Parking Rules
All URA & HDB public carparks require the display of valid parking coupons near the windscreen.
Generally, white parking lots are $0.50 per half hour.
Yellow parking lots are $1.00 per half hour.
Red parking lots are reserved for season parking only.
Available from: Post offices, Designated petrol kiosks & 7-11 convenience stores.
Seat Belts
The driver and all passengers are required to wear seat belts. Children below 8 years old must be securely fastened to the appropriate infant capsules, convertible or booster seats.
Fine of $120 plus 3 Demerit points for driver & $120 for each passenger for failure to fasten seat belts.
Bus Lanes
Bus lanes marked in yellow on the left side of the road are for bus traffic only.
Operating hours:
Weekdays 7:30 to 10 am & 4:30 to 7 pm.
Saturdays 7:30 to 10 am & 11:30 am to 2 pm.
Provision of Driver's Particulars
The particulars for all drivers for the rental vehicle must be forwarded to us for the purpose of Insurance coverage. Unless all relevant particulars are provided, San's Tours & Car Rentals is not liable for any accident claims involving the hirer and the vehicle or to third parties.
Return of Vehicles
If you require your vehicle to be collected, call our main office during office hours at least 24 hours in advance. Vehicles returned at Changi airport should be parked in parking lots in carpark C for Terminal 2 or carpark A for Terminal 1. ($1 per half hour or $15 per day).
Delivery/Collection times:
Weekdays 8:30 am to 5 pm.
Weekends & Public holidays 8:30 am to 3 pm.
Delivery/Collection of vehicle is available at $15 per way.
